Top 10 Modern Action Movies on Netflix

Okay so now it's the complete opposite of the last list — no nostalgia, just fresh stuff. These are the most recent action movies on Netflix right now, the kind you open the app with no idea what to watch and just stumble into it and end up loving it. Some are Netflix originals, some just landed there — but all of them are worth your time. 💥🔥

Here we go:

  1. Carry-On

    2024

A TSA agent at LAX gets blackmailed into letting a suspicious bag through on Christmas Eve — refuse and someone he loves dies, comply and hundreds of passengers are at risk. Tense from start to finish.

  2. Havoc

    2025

Tom Hardy plays a corrupt cop who has to rescue a politician's son from the criminal underworld. Directed by the guy behind The Raid — expect insane fight choreography and non-stop chaos.

  3. Extraction 2

    2023

Chris Hemsworth is back as Tyler Rake on an even more dangerous mission across Eastern Europe. The 21-minute continuous action sequence is jaw-dropping — one of the best ever put on film.

  4. The Killer

    2023

David Fincher directs Michael Fassbender as a meticulous hitman watching everything unravel after he misses a job. Cold, calculated and stylish — exactly what you'd expect from Fincher.

  5. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F

    2024

Eddie Murphy returns as Axel Foley 30 years later, this time to save his daughter in Beverly Hills. Doesn't reinvent anything, but delivers exactly that fun nostalgic vibe the franchise always had.

  6. Damsel

    2024

Millie Bobby Brown plays a princess who discovers she was handed over as a dragon's sacrifice — and decides she's not going down without a fight. A fairy tale flipped upside down, with great action and an awesome dragon.

  7. Red Notice

    2021

Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot in a global chase after an art thief. Maybe not the deepest film ever made, but it's pure entertainment — and was Netflix's biggest release at the time.

  8. Godzilla Minus One

    2023

A guilt-ridden ex-kamikaze pilot must face Godzilla in post-WWII Japan. Won the Oscar for visual effects and is by far the best Godzilla movie ever made — emotional and brutal at the same time.

  9. Rebel Ridge

    2024

A former Marine rolls into a small Southern town to bail out his cousin and gets caught up in a corrupt local police department that won't let him leave. Slow burn that explodes in the best way.

  10. The Union

    2024

Mark Wahlberg gets pulled back into the world of espionage by his high school ex — played by Halle Berry. It's fun, it's slick, and it doesn't take itself too seriously, which is exactly the right call.
